Nothing transforms a cake as quickly and as easily as airbrushing! Subtle shading and colour gradients, water effects or bold swatches of colour- at Caramel we provide you with all it takes to master airbrushing techniques for cake decorating.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • The parts of the airbrush
  • How to set up the airbrush for use
  • The basic operation of the airbrush
  • How to fill the colour to get best results
  • Basic techniques
  • How to mix colours
  • How to clean the airbrush
  • The finer techniques of airbrushing a safari themed cake which includes modelling and airbrushing a lion’s face and creating an airbrushed Leopard print

We will provide:

  • Airbrush Machine
  • Red, Blue & yellow Airbrush Colours
  • 8” Round Cake Base
  • 8”x3” Dummy Cake
  • Fondant to cover the cake and model the Lion’s face
  • Hand Outs

You will need to bring:

  • Apron
  • Note Pad & Pen
  • 1-2 tbsp. Corn Flour
  • 1-2 tbsp. Shortening
  • Gum Glue
  • Rolling Pin (Small & Large)
  • Roll and Cut Mat
  • Fondant Smoother
  • Metal Spatula
  • Paint Brush


  • Water Brush
  • Squeeze Bottle
  • Gloves
  • Silicone Moulds: fish and shells
  • Black Icing Colour or Black Edible Pen
